Applications of IPCO Power Fuel Homogenizers

Choose the application that matches the issue you want to address. Installation position determines the purpose of the treatment.

FID Reducer - Before the separator

Excessive separator sludge means more waste handling and loss of usable fuel. The FID Reducer mechanically conditions fuel before separation to help keep more of the combustible fraction available for use.


For suitable HFO applications, sludge reduction is typically 50–80%, depending on fuel quality, separator configuration and operating conditions.


FID Improver — Before the engine

Unstable combustion, smoke and filter fouling can be linked to fuel condition. The FID Improver treats fuel in the circulation system before the engine, helping deliver more consistent fuel to the injection system.


Treatment supports combustion stability and efficiency, with the potential to reduce fuel consumption, soot and smoke. Results depend on fuel quality, engine condition and operating load.

Tank Treatment

FID FuelGuard — Tank recirculation

Uneven tank contents and fuel stratification can affect the consistency of fuel supplied to the treatment system. FID FuelGuard combines tank recirculation with mechanical homogenization to help maintain a more uniform fuel mixture.


For conventional fuels and suitable biofuel blends, the configuration is selected around tank volume, fuel properties and the required circulation rate.

Water-Fuel Emulsion

FID Injector — Controlled water addition

The FID Injector combines controlled water addition with homogenization to produce a water-in-fuel emulsion for suitable HFO engine applications. It supports improved combustion and reductions in NOx and particulate emissions. Suitability is assessed for the engine and its existing fuel and emission-control systems.

Controlled Fuel Blending

FID Blender — Onboard blending

The FID Blender combines controlled fuel dosing with mechanical mixing for onboard blending. The system is configured for the selected fuel components and target blend ratio. Fuel compatibility and the required final fuel specification must be assessed before blending.

Combined Fuel Treatment

Treatment at multiple stages

Some installations benefit from treatment at more than one point. A FID Reducer can address fuel losses during separation, while a FID Improver conditions fuel before combustion. FuelGuard can add tank recirculation where needed. We assess which combination serves your operating objectives.
