
Combustion Improvement Systems enhance the performance of heavy fuel oil by ensuring uniformity after it passes through heaters and pumps in the high-pressure side of the fuel injection system. This process supplies fuel filters and injectors with fuel droplets measuring 3 microns or smaller. The result is superior atomization and more efficient fuel-oxygen interaction, leading to enhanced combustion that reduces fuel consumption and lowers emissions.
By achieving a cleaner combustion, these improvements effectively decrease particulate matter and soot emissions. Furthermore, the reduction in fuel consumption directly contributes to a decrease in CO2 emissions. Vessels equipped with scrubber systems will benefit from cleaner wash water when the Fuel Improvement System (FID Improver) is in operation.
On four-stroke engines, the system delivers fuel savings of approximately 1-1.5%. For two-stroke engines, the savings are even higher, ranging from 2-2.5%. These fuel-saving benefits further enhance the economic and environmental efficiency of the engines.
