| The FID Reducer
FO Sludge from purification and filtration is one of the major economical- and ecological problems for all shipping companies and power plants.
Since many years the overboard discharge is strictly prohibited. The produced sludge has to be stored in separate sludge tanks and finally to be discharged to shore side reception facilities.
This is a very expensive alternative. In order to reduce these costly disposals and to relieve owners from the danger of paying fines, IPCO Power developed the
FID Reducer (the sludge reduction device). Analysis of conventional sludge shows large amounts of asphaltenes, with high calorific values. Normally the sludge is separated from the fuel independent of its combustibility, due to the agglomeration.
The FID Reducer prevents the agglomeration of asphaltenes. This process provides an optimal use of fuels. The amount of produced sludge is significant reduced.
Considering these facts, the FID Reducer treats fuels in an economical and ecological way.
